Francisca Pageo is a young lady from Molina de Segura in the south west of Spain. She creates gorgeous collages and I have been admiring and inspired by her work for the past few years. It was an honor to be able to ask her a few questions about them.

When did you begin creating collages?

I started to make collages 3 years ago in my free time until I discovered myself working for that too.

What are your favourite materials to collage with?

My favourite materials are old papers (especially magazines and vintage books) and cloth, but sometimes I like to use thread or things I find in the street.

Are there any artists who have inspired you?

There are a few of artists who have inspired me. I like Eva Hesse for example because of her minimalism and conceptualism.
Although, nostalgia, fairy tales, movies and all these girlie things also inspire me.

Do any of your collages have a story behind them?

Some collages of mine have a personal story, also emotions that I have in that moment. I am very melancholic and I hang onto dreamy and child-like things, I used to think people never grew, not at all.

Which of your collages is your personal favourite?

My favourite? I can’t choose only one!
It depends on the time, but at this moment, it comes to be this:

Lately, I dont stop to watch dramatic things about children, and subconsciously I made it. It’s curious, but I used to feel really disturbed when bad things happen with little kids and I’ve always thought that true things finish out.

Every Friday internet jogging features an artist, series or something special Chelsee finds while scouring the white, pink and blue treasure trove. We call this the Friday Flickr Feature.
